1984 930 turbo advice

Newbie to the forum. Wanted to ask some porsche experts here on their opinions before I dive too far in a project. Was thinking of picking up this 930 turbo motor and dropping it into a roller, but I'm not sure if it will be more problems than it's worth. This motor had a leakdown test already. 1-32%, 2-14%, 3-55%, 4-35%, 5-17%, 6-15% Looks like cylinder 3 will definitely need to be rebuilt, 1 and 4 are looking on it's way to needing one in the future. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Looks like it's rebuild time.

Unless your going to do a quickie fix with dubious results, your going to have to do a full top end rebuild. From there, it's easy to just do the bottom while your so close. Now comes the hard part, a stock rebuild or the slippery slope of mods and where/when to stop?

Would you say it's a definite rebuild for the entire motor or just for those cylinders? Also, for the leakdown tests, does it make a difference if it was performed even if the motor sitting around for a while? I'm just wondering how accurate of a reading one can get, depending on if the engine has been ran recently or not.

I think you can pick up a solid 930 in the $20's. Probably cheaper in the long run and you get the suspension, body, and brakes.

Unless you just want the creative outlet.

A leakdown should be sone on a warm engine, so doing one on an that's been sitting around might give inaccurate results. Maybe not to the extent you have unless there is carbon buildup or it wasn't done right.

As mentioned earlier, unless your doing it on the cheap (and unreliable), a full top end would be best.
