I got an old used plastic rear deck lid grille and cut it to fit.

Cool looking car...
I use 1/2" diamond mesh with semigloss black paint, it works everytime. |

Depends on what you are looking for in regards to originality. This is the mesh that the factory used.

I don't think so... recognizing that the car is in a Porsche dealer.

Having seen several original cars ( in person) I can vouch for the fact it is a factory original. This is a low mileage untouched euro car. I can also post a picture from a factory special wishes catalog.

Yeah factory euro's had the wire mesh. A few of the very first special wishes cars had cut down rear deck grilles ( at least that's what i have read in a couple different magazine articles about special wishes cars) But i am not sure if thats actually true. I have been thinking about going to the wire mesh for better air flow and more accuracy

Also of note is that the lights in the valence are not the same as those on US Carrera's or 930's

Yes that white car has the M506 option I believe. I think it is a pic of Bill's 1986 car.

While I can't comment how the grill material is attached I thought I would add a few pictures from a euro slant car that I took earlier in the year at Daytona.
The grill material looks slightly different but similar in effect. I don't recall all the details on the car but it was a euro model brought to the states. ![]() ![]() As well as a closeup of the driving lights ![]() You'll notice that the overall affect of both the white and silver cars appears to be to minimize the visual disruption of the opening for the cooler in the front valence. Additionally, per the PET the grill comes pre-attached to the valence as both are one part.

Boy that valence looks a little chewed up and thats a shame the mesh is attached to the valence as in his case it looks like rock have punched holes in the mesh I think I would go with something stronger

my valence has what appears to be small screws or bolts attached with epoxy or even overlaid fiberglass. The grill material is just held on the posts with a washer and a nut. Sorry for the lack of pics, I'm at work but can post pics later.
