930 oil/smoke issue

would anyone have any suggestions on an recent issue that has surfaced with while turning after the car had heat cycled seems to produced a large amount of smoke out the drivers side exhaust ? btw(twin outlet muffler). in a straight line all is well,no smoke but after setting at a light then turning.....oh boy. oil level is within normal limits. temps are about 150-175f. i did take off the i/c as well the intake pipe etc. and found about 10-15ml leak out of the i/c. i also looked down into the turbo housing and found pooling of oil about 2 " deep. my mechanic seemed to think it could be turbo seals gone bad that may allow the blow-by and therefore the excess pooling and smoking. as well checked the oil scavenge pump and it was fuctioning fine. any help or suggestions would be appreciated. p.s engine also has headers,k-27, after market drip tank with associated oil lines. just finished 1200mile break-in period when this arose. currently adjusting the valves. regards ,george

I had a similar problem on my motor rebuild and the turbo seals let go while tuning the motor. Shipped the turbo to UMW and had my K29 rebuilt. Then when the motor sat, I would get a lot of smoke upon a cold start. Apparently, my oil tank was a little too small as it was about the size of a small medicine bottle. scavenge pump and oil lines were good and the new tank solved my problem.

If you are experiencing this problem because you also have a new/rebuilt K-27, you might want to read Post #106 in this thread: Smokey exhaust

Try a check valve in the scavenge line just on the turbo side of the pump. I just went through this.
