993 transmission
Can a 993 transmission be transplanted to a 930 ? I have access to a wrecked 993 locally and can maybe do a swap. There is also the engine (from a 1997) which has low miles.

It has been done, but from what I remember, it requires a little cutting and fab work as the 993 6 speed is physically longer. 6 speed in a 930 would be kick ass...

993 uses a hydraulic clutch.
Typically requires cutting up the tube and reinforce things to the point you would need to convert to coil over springs. Might depends if you shorten the bell housing or not. A couple of the conversions I saw required cutting the sheet metal at the tunnel and rear seat. Would be cool though. |
It can be done, but require big modifications to the chassis just to physically fit it.,not worth the hassle.
