Let's just say they started to show the potential that only now is being celebrated today. Most things that are being done today are based on what the factory already did and while fast modern cars are cool, they are definitely not as ground breaking as some would lead to in order to sell overpriced products to people without the supporting mods. I don't like people that take advantage of others by price gouging just because they can, based on a flimsy reputation. How you treat others says alot about you and the work you do, and like I said before, The drag run looked cool but by no means impresses me, neither does the car, motor or anything else about it.

I take it nothing impresses you but your own car, which by the way looks like a couple of other 935 race cars out there.Ask Juan that car is a daily driver. And stating that 935's are factory chassis is like saying the modified class in sport compact is factory too as they have to retain the stock front strut mounts and nothing else. The 935 chassis is all caged up.No flex means better traction. The 935 was geared for short track also.Have you even dynoed your car yet or taken it to the track. There are a few that can do what he's done or is doing themselves. Not just through money at it.If he through half the money imagine what he'd be capable of.Imagine if he built a 3.8.All Juan did was post a nice vid and this thread went sideways like the car.

In reality the later 935s were tube frame cars. They retained as much sheetmetal as they needed to for group 5, but when the floor has been cut out and raised and the rear bulkhead was partially removed, then there really isn't much of the unibody left. What is important is that the suspension pickup point were all tied into the tube frame.

I don't think that we been fair here........
![]() Not to take anything away from the 935, but we are talking about a car that will ( on his own power) drive from New York to Texas, run 3 passes 0 to 1 mile @ 232MPH, stop on the way down at the 1/4 mile track make 3 - 10 Sec passes and drive back to New York. the last event that we went, the car ran 3 passes at the 1/4 mile 10 Sec @ 160MPH, The following week 0 to 1 mile 236MPH and the week after 0 to 1 mile 235 MPH at the Texas Mile Rick Flair once said."To be the Man you have to Beat the Man" until SOMEONE in the Porsche world can accomplish this type of goals, I have to cheer for Bello. I have said this for years, you build a fast Porsche and accomplish some of this amazing goals and rest assured that I will be your FAN too!

Bellos car is truly impressive for all the reasons that Juan stated above. Before my Porsche era started, I ran a big block Mopar (72 Challenger) that ran mid 10's but was hardly streetable, so Bellos car is very impressive indeed. However.......I'd still choose Blackbird in a minute..

How about an overall top speed run? Now that would be interesting. Reaper, go swap your gears out!

a top speed run would not be good for a car with lots of downforce bodywork. Eddie's sleek narrowbody with shaved drip rails and 997 headlights has much less frontal area.

you are absolutely right. Every bit of "aero" on that car is designed for downforce. downforce is drag, drag is the enemy of high speed

Try building a car to approach extremly high speeds (like 200) without downforce and see where you end up.
