Intake.... thing???
O.K. I'm replacing my intake on my '87 930, with a K&N cone type filter. I took the big box intake off and got all my breather filters on, but on top of the meter plate(where the cone filter is going to go) there is a straight piece of metal with a rubber piece coming off of it that's pointed down at and just above the center of the meter plate. Do I leave this on or should I take it off??

definitely needs to be in place as it it intended to limit the back travel of the sensor plate and absorb the shock from a backfire,

The car is new to me, and I'm still learning. Now, thanks to this forum, I have a much better understanding of the CIS system and so much more. I kinda figured that it might be some kind of stop. Thanks
