Well good news and bad news
![]() Good News is that the car ran 228MPH and both car and driver are safe, the driver and car have already started the 1100 mile journey back to south Florida. List of the activities, 17 dyno pulls all at over 1000rwhp, best dyno pull 1155 rwhp of E85, a journey of 1100 miles, 4 runs 0 to 1 mile, 2 of them were aborted, one run 217mph and one run 228 MPH now a 1100 mile journey back. Bad News is that we had very high expectations and we came short. ![]() ![]() Overhaul a tremendous effort! ![]()

This reminds me of the debate that was going on a few weeks back with regards to the advantages/disadvantages of downforce vs drag. Do you think if he had more downforce he would have been able to put more of that HP to the ground and push through the added drag?
Either way, it was great following your weekend, 228MPH is an impressive number and one hell of a journey. |

Here's my take on this in no particular order
1. An 1100 mile drive to then run at those levels has to be stressful, I know it has been for me following the journey I can't imagine for the driver. 2. Where is God's earth do you practice for this type of event? setting the car for a drag race is possible but for a 1 mile race is nearly impossible and I think this is a huge factor, it reminds me of a project we did years ago, our Diesel engines were to be installed at 4750 meters above sea level ( 15,000FT) we did the simulation the best we could but at the site we came short handed and had to re -do everything, at those races you don't have the time for that. 3. And what I feels is the solution, if we install the new AEM boost controller we could slowly increment the boost per speed per gear all the way to the 30 psi of boost but then again the thing cost 1K ![]()

Juan, no shame in 228mph. We're all proud of him flying the Porsche flag. I need to talk to Eddie about this boost control issue, got some ideas that won't cost $1k but should give him enough boost control to prevent wheel spin.
