what's involved in removing the recirc assembly?

I need to swap out my decel valve with a used one I picked up from a board member. It looks like it going to require removing the recirculating assembly b/c I don't see how I can get to the two retaining bolts on the back of it.

The rubber hoses on the left side are obvious enough, but then it gets pretty tightly packed on there and I'm wondering if this is a winter job. Any idea on the hours to R &R it? Any gaskets I would need that I don't have?

Did some quick searches but didn't really find anything (I did find this pic of the assembly:)

Thanks. From that thread, I found this pic and need the part number for the end gaskets.
Does anyone know the part number, or the correct name to search by?

part # 930.110.149.00

you'll need 2

Not a difficult job to remove the recirc assy. The only tricky part I found was getting to the hose clamp on the manifold (on hose between the decel valve and manifold). It can be tough to see.

Good luck.

Thank you, Jacob! Pelican does carry that part #. Bummer is I'm completely disassembled and now have to wait on those gaskets, hoping they get from CA to NY by Friday for a weekend install.

This started with swapping out my decel valve job- which is now completed, but I figured I'd check these notorious gaskets since I had the recirc assembly out anyway. Good thing I did- they were toast.

I must note that this entire recirc assembly is just held on by two through bolts and a nut on a stud, but the damn decel valve is fastened with two bolts with their hex head towards the front of the car- necessitating the recirc removal. Oh well. ;-) I was able to replace two original braided vacuum hoses while I could.

Can anyone tell me if the recirc only opens on over run between shifts or if it is also open at idle and cruse?

Thx.

I think I have a few extras now, especially since I'm no longer running the factory recirc assy. If you by chance work in NYC, we could easily arrange a hand off.
