Anyone remembers the list price of the RUF manual boost control?
Thanks,

I cannot answer your question, but I have one recently removed from my car that I am considering parting with. PM me if interested.

Maxx,
Some members would like to know why you removed the boost control. Also, did twinreds take it off your hands?

Thanks,
Mark

My car was modified with Ruf upgrades in the 80s by Exclusive Motorwerks (5speed, intercooler, gauges, poly spolier, front oil cooler, shaved gutters, boost knob...and probably other things that were sold off before I bought the car). I want the car to be fast, fun and reliable. I am not particularly interested in the "Rufness". I hate the debates about Ruf VIN vs Ruf modified vs Ruf bolt-on parts....For example, I replace the Ruf IC with a Kokeln. The Kokeln IC is bigger and I sold the Ruf IC for twice what I paid for the Kokeln, which gave me more money to spend on other upgrades. The boost knob, well, I just don't have a need for it. I am setting my boost at a conservative 0.8 bar for now. If I want adjustable boost, I would go with something electronic. EFI will come someday down the road.

The knob has not been sold. I am "considering" selling it if someone wants it and makes me an attractive offer. I don't know what it's worth and am not looking to get rid of it, but am open to selling it to someone who is looking for that unique Ruf item to complete their build. It is at the shop with my car this week and I will share pictures in about a week.

If the knob is complete with the leather boot and the mount fitment it should sell for around $400.

Finally got it back and took some pics. Did not clean it...

The leather boot is odd. It is too small to cover the bracket. The bracket seems to be wrapped in leather. Hoses are in good condition. It was mounted between my seats aft of the brake handle. $500 + shipping in CONUS.

Found some other pics of installed ruf knobs...appears the leather boot should have been placed on the regulator body, beneath the bracket. Easy change.

Also have a pdf of the parts and installation diagrams for the unit (thanks, OSI930).

Thanks for keeping me in the loop on this (and for doing such a stand-up job of maintaining order of interest/inquiries!)...I found and purchased one a few weeks ago and as much as I'll probably regret not buying this (and every other Ruf bit I haven't bought over the years), I'll pass on this and let it go to a different new home.

Bump for a *****in' old-school dial-a-death!
