Tool Kit
For those familiar with tool kits. Does the pictured tool Kit look OEM original for 1987 turbo? Would it be the same as a kit for an 1986 Turbo?

Hi
I am no expert, but isn't there supposed to be a sparkplug socket as well? Jesper |
I think the towing eye is incorrect as well. Lug wrench and alternator nut wrench are missing as well. No handle for the screwdriver bits either? Maybe the kit is from a later model?
If course this would be easier if I wasn't looking at the picture on my iPhone... |
it is nice information. this all the tools are compulsory required for vehicles any time.
|
dont remember which years included a ruler either ....LOL

The kit is starting to look less "complete" then I thought. Anybody with an 1986 that is willing to pull there kit out and compare it to the one pictured?
I'm thinking of purchasing this one but if it's not correct for year, then it would be a wasted effort. Also, how about it's authenticity as far as being a factory tool kit? |
I've got an 87, so I'll try to dig it out and take a picture shortly.
|
Missing several bits & pieces.
I can take a picture of mine tonight if you need it but this should answer the question. looks like some of the most important pieces are missing Jack Handle (Rim Wrench) Spark Plug Wrench Screwdriver Handle Quote:

Thanks for the parts diagram.
I really need to pickup an "owners manual", where does the tow hook srew into the car? Are the tow hooks the same for all 84-89 cars? |
After a bit more looking I found tool kits for 84-86 differ from 87-89. This link shows the 84-86 tool kit diagram, it's the parts catalog for 84-86 but front page is tool kit

I'm still looking for hole that tow hook inserts into. I read one post that said in rear bumper by left rubber bumper is a plug that when removed revels the tread for tow hook insertion. Not on my car!
Please post picture or let me know if my bumper is not stock! |

But I don't have stock bumpers and flat-bed the car if I break anything, so I don't really know. :) |
E.G.
Post a pics of your rear (car)... |

On my Boxster its behind the license plate, did you look there?

The bumper has a nut type threaded block on the backside of the bumper. |

Threaded tow hooks were used for later model cars like RS Americas, 964's, etc. I just don't think after 84 or so, they came with the car. As mentioned, my 87 has no provision for one front or back.
