Max Bolt on HP - 1982 European 930 Engine
What is the max safe HP for a 1982 European 930 Engine with only bolt on's?
Bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, exhaust, intake, etc... Over 400 hp?? Please list part(s) and estimated HP gain. No internal work at all. No new cams, heads or anything internal... Thanks! |

The cam and ports will probably limit you to just under 400whp. About 360-380whp is probably a better goal.
I could be wrong. |

Diminishing returns begin at 400WHP.
At that point you are looking at raising boost level and redline which will require replacing the rod bolts and head studs. Opening up the ports and changing cams will delay the need to raise boost and redline but still require opening the engine. Typical 350WHP/400CHP build on stock engine: > headers > larger turbo > free flowing muffler > 1.0bar boost > oversized intercooler
