Emissions/Smog Delete
OK long story short, pulled the engine and trans for a clutch and am now faced with a broken head stud. Going to tear into it and replace them all with ARP studs so I will not have to worry about that again.
While taking it apart I have removed the smog pump and the piping to the cylinders and will plug the heads. What else comes off? I am asking because in removing the intake pieces I have come across things I am not sure to do with. Pardon my descriptions here, but I am at a loss as to what some of this stuff does and need to know what to do with it. The first are two parts that sit to the left side of the motor, right up top just below the I/C. They have electric connectors on one side and vacuum fittings on the other. If I recall correctly, one crosses over the the other and then they go out to different points. One has yellow/beige cloth covered rubber hose coming off of it and it goes to some valves(?) of some sort that went to each side of the the air line injector tube to the cylinders and has a "T" that goes to the throttle butterfly piece (throttle body?). The other one that sits right next to it has a blue cloth covered hose that goes to the distributor and to the throttle body as well. If these can go away, do I plug the hoses? What do I do with the electrical connectors? Leave them hooked up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks James |

James - Can't help on your questions but if you are interested in parting with the smog equip you are removing let me know. Bringing my de-smogged 930 to California and am faced with some challenges in passing smog out here!
