Delivered my car today....

Today, I delivered my car to the port of Jacksonville for its trip to its new home in Norway. The gentleman who bought it met me at the port where I handed over the keys and for the next 3 hours, I explained in detail everything I had done to it over the past 10 years. I hope he gets as much enjoyment from driving it as I had building it and driving it.

So, with no P car in the garage, I think it's time for me to check out and say that I've enjoyed being a part of this forum and sharing my ups and downs. I've made an attempt to give as much as I've received, but I think I've fallen terribly short - there is an unbelievable amount of talent and camaraderie here. I wish all the very best for you and your projects and thanks for letting me be a part of this forum.

Don

Don, sorry to see you go. I admired your tenacity in building your engine- even if there was some trial and error you ended up with a really sorted car. Someone got a heck of a 930.
Your posts will live on here with the search feature.

Any future automobile plans? Hard to think of someone with your abilities checking out entirely.

I only dream of rising to your level of "short". You are one of the good guys of this forum, Don, and you will be missed. Best wishes in your future endeavors and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Trond is a fortunate fellow to be the next caretaker of the car you put so much effort into.
No need to go, there are a few folks here that are P-less at the moment. It won't last, you WILL have another.

You know the best thing about your car, Don? I have made a very good friend in you because of you, your car, and this forum. I am glad that we live close enough that we can drink a beer every once and awhile. Even though my car is still not running (because of a child, and other priorities), I will have it running soon, and I know you will be there if I need your knowledge.

So, publicly, thanks my friend!!! Don, your one hell of a guy!

Wow, that's like the end of an era! Like loosing a family member.

I followed your build(s) since day one, every detail.

Surely you have a new project in mind?

Don,

Thanks for everything. Now, that my car has sold as well how about a 996tt like I did or a 997? Just a thought. Thanks for all the time on the phone when I first bought my car.... It helped tremendously.

Kind regards,
Bryan

Don,

Liam and I will miss you! And I'm still not convinced that Blkbird is running any better after the shop fixed it - I liked her better after you tuned the AFRs!

Thanks very much. The posts and PM's are sincerely appreciated.

For the mean time, I have no plans for another car. If the bug hits me again, it will be a new-as-possible GT3 or a new C63 AMG - two cars I admire a great deal.

Let's see what the new year brings.....

Well guys.
I'm happy to say I am the new proud owner of Don's 930.

I would like to thank you again Don for meeting me in Jacksonville to go through the car and for giving me a brief introductoin to the LINK system.
Also for the good dialogue we have had since I contacted you and all the e-mails we have shared.

Here is a picture of the car before we unloaded it from the trailer.

I will post pictures when the car arrives in Norway sometime in January.

Thanks, I will :-)

Too bad I will not be able to enjoy before sometime in April, when the roads are dry and free for salt after the winter
