Silly cylinder/possible rebuild question

I've been exploring different rebuild options for my '83 930. I know porsche engine rebuilds aren't usually synonymous with the terms "on a budget", but I'm not one of the rich guys, and have more time than money, so i figured I would throw a couple questions out there to help me possibly start piecing things together.

First - Is there any reason I couldn't use some early 3.6 100mm cylinders on my 3.3 case? Assuming they're not out of round, and have been replated or don't need replating, why wouldn't i be able to use something like: Porsche 911 100mm 3.6 Nikasil Cylinders - eBay (item 220611267363 end time Dec-20-10 17:29:34 PST) ?

OR am i better off with something like: Porsche 911 100mm Aluminum Cylinder & Piston Kit - eBay (item 350420841271 end time Jan-06-11 12:37:43 PST)

I'll start with that question and see what replies i get. Thanks.

964 cylinders use a bigger stud spacing and a bigger case spigot bore. These cylinders as well as your cases will need to be machined to work.
QSC in the past supposedly had some quality control issues, but are drop in.
Henry @ Supertec has experience with both. I'd give him a call.

Not an expert but I do not know that I wold run 100mm cylinders on a turbo. Only 3.5 build I liked was with 8/1 compression, SC cams, ports, K27-7200 turbo, and just .7 bar boost. Nice low end TQ motor and about 450chp.

Plus, at 100mm twin plugging becomes almost a must I would think.

Probably would not go past 3.4 and like C2 3.3 fined cylinder better if going to 1 bar with all the goodies.

Only budget approach might be used Carrera fully fined cylinders bored and plated to 3.3 or 3.4 with JE turbo pistons.

Thanks Ollies and 911st. I continued to do some reading about QSC and whatnot after i posted the thread up, as well as talking to some people selling some parts on the forum and learned about the stud spacing and some other issues.

I sent Henry a message about the QSC/JE combos, so I'm sure he'll shed some light on the subject for me.
