What do you think about these brakes?

I came across these on ebay $1500 no reserve. What do you think about the price and will these fit my car?

Hi
I would post that question in the Tech section, too increase my chances of guys like i.e. Bill Verburg to chime in
Let them know what you are building, and he for one can tell you. I have read A LOT of "brake stuff" from him.

For a street car, big reds are are over kill, but they will look good. If you track the car hard, then they can be useful.

The eBay ad looks like a set of early Big Reds, as the newer ones have pad retainer pins and not the spring clips.

It hard to tell what you have on your car, but the rears look stock and maybe the fronts have been upgraded to big reds or just powder coated.

If you can get them for a good price, it might be worth it, otherwise you can just clean and powdercoat yours.

Thanks for the reply!! Not planning on tracking the car at all. Just thought it seemed like a good price for all front and rear with rotors.

nothing special- they look like carrera front calipers painted red on the outer surfaces front, and unpainted carrera rears
front inner pics are so bad, i just noticed that they may be S alloy calipers dirty then painted red !
way overpriced for what you are getting
this would be an upgrade for a 914 or 911T if you had the right struts and rotors to install them

Thanks again, I will pass on them. I will save the money and use it somewhere else in my project.

What about the ebay brakes? They looked like big reds.

I see they have sold and if they were big reds, $1500 was a good deal.

I guess I'm confused (and it's easy to do).

The picture I posted is from eBay and the "...big red upgrade..." kit for sale ($1500).

The pictures that torresmd posted are on his car curretly and not for sale.

my bad !! i committed the first rule of not reading the post properly - DOH! Pics posted here were what is currently on the car
you are correct that those calipers , you posted pics of,are from a big red kit- the rear , Still an upgrade over what he has

the entire kit, if it has the larger piston front calipers is definitely a deal. looks like someone took the time to get all the right pieces for it
