oil leak coming down the turbo 84 turbo

recap... I had my car into the mechanic a few months ago and he went through every hose and gasket on the engine that he could replace without pulling the engine. that left me with one small leak. upper cam something or another and he said he needs to pull the engine to do that. I now have a leak that comes down the side of the turbo. its a KKK k27. I can not see where any oil is coming from except at the top of the silicon boot where the intercooler connects to the turbo. i see a little oil that appears to work its way down and onto the turbo.

What I have done that may have caused this... about a month ago I noticed when I was fixing my fog lights that my front oil cooler brackets were broken and my oil cooler was just wedged in there. I removed it, had the brackets fixed and re-installed. I had the nose of the car up about 6 inches for a good week. after reinstalling the oil cooler I added oil to the mid mark on the dip stick(while it was running) I did run it a bit with the nose high to test for leaks.( when I did this I only added approximately what I had taken out) my question is.... when I ran it with the nose high is there a chance that the car could have perceived this as having to much oil and I ended up with oil in bad spots? I removed the intercooler today and I did find a light dusting of oil inside the tube that connects to the turbo. is that normal?

It's possible that oil seeped into the compressor housing causing the leak you described at the turbo. I hope that you did not check the oil level with the front end up! Check the oil level again with car level and up to operating temperature.
