My latest Painting/ 917 content
This is my latest paintingI post 99% of the time in the 911 section, but thought some of you might miss out and would appreciate and/ or be interested in seeing pics of my latest painting. Its the second one i've done of this car. The first was completed a few months ago and sold here on Pelican (as was this one). I had some interest in prints (which I did not have), so I decided on doing a second painting and have high quality prints made.
It's 1970 917 #019 owned by The Collier Collection in Naples, FL. I have prints available and it's a very limited edition of 100 prints. Here is the link to the FS ad with more info if you are interested: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/587065-fs-new-917-martini-livery-painting-prints.html Let me know what you think! Really nice quality. Very heavy and velvet finish paper just like the actual watercolor paper of the original. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1295900711.jpg |

All I can say is WOW!. Very nice work. I swore it was an old photo at first. The attention to detail is amazing. What kind of price are you selling your pieces for? Chris P.S. I noticed your car collection in your signature....I'm interested in the GLH turbo you have. I have an 86 GLHT, sante fe blue..highly modified. Some pictures of it would be nice. My Omni has been a 10 year change around..always making it better I hope!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1295915919.jpg |

Ah...nice turbo II! Mine is an old SCCA race car/ full cage, signed by Shelby in the hatch area above spare tire, Revolution wheels, SARRC 1987 Champion car. Pretty cool. I've owned mine since '92. Funny how fast that car was 15 - 20 years ago, now...not so much. There is hope though... I want to do a TII conversion on mine as well. Thanks for the compliments on my painting! |

Silver...nice!
couple guys up this way have them in silver. TII is the way to go, but hard to find the 2 piece intakes. Your best to find a donor Daytona with a TII motor and full electronics. Have you visited turbododge.com or turbomopar.com? chris |
thanks to all for the compliments. I really appreciate it.
yes to boosted about the turbo dodge sites. I have a ton of pics on one of them, but i'm rarely on there. I go a few months without going to them then spend a few days on and a few months off and so on and so on |
Just a bump to get it back out there!

Terry, very nice work, beautiful!
I am also an artist but have only done a few car paintings all were commercial art related. I did some cars for National Car Rental many years ago, they wanted me to paint them huge so when they shrunk them down they would look more photographic, i told them i could do it the same scale it was to be used, it would take less time and it would hold together if they wanted to blow it up the size of a billboard. They didn't believe me, so i painted this sample for them, it measured 6.5 inches across. I got the job. Look what i choose for subject matter. Watercolor, airbrush media.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1296761579.jpg |
very nice! The print shop that made my prints said they could easily double the size and it would look exactly the same. I thought about sending out some e-mails to dealers to see if they might want a big one for a showroom.

a special someone signing the roof (that ones long gone, but the sig in the hatchback arear floor is still there) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1297720429.jpg in its heyday circa '87 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1297720495.jpg me as a dorky autocrosser circa '92 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1297720649.jpg |
Just an FYI: I now have huge double size prints available of this painting.
Here are the pics: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1299107845.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1299107931.jpg Same high quality acid free velvet finish rag as the original print. I was trying to capture the texture of the paper. Very close to the original watercolor paper I used on the original. Each will be signed and numbered consecutively with the original sized print. This keeps the integrity of the edition size intact. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1299107992.jpg |
Terry, your work is amazing - I'd be all over that if I were ($) in the market. Alas...
Chappy, beautiful work there as well - thanks for sharing. It's so interesting learning more about the folks among us here, things like this come out. Nice! Always admired your 914-6t btw! Stellar build. Terry / Boosted - I've got an Audi bud out in Ohio who's also a GLHS fanatic. PM me if you'd like contact info, it's always good when fellow loons unite 8-). Neat cars, fersure. Love the vintage race shots Terry, and lol - fellow dorky autox'er circa '92. Been on sabbatical for the most part w/ kids now 8-/... |
