Aluminum Valve Covers
Hello,
Has anybody here used the aluminum cnc valve covers from Hargett? Especially the ones with the twin plug option. I need to know how they fit and the quality of the pieces. If I get them I was thinking of getting them polished and then applying a clear finish. I polished my fan and had it clear powder coated. I would appreciate any input from you all. Thanks, Mark 78-930 heavily modified 10 Cayenne GTS 10 BMW M5 (my daily) |

I have them on my car. My original valve covers leaked badly after my engine rebuild, so I replaced them with the Hargetts (drilled for twin plug). If you like billet machined parts, you'll probably like them. I have read where some people don't like the machining marks, and would prefer them to be more polished looking, but I like the industrial look.
Fit is fine, and bear in mind that they use the 964/993 style gasket. I found that you need to be careful installing the covers because the gasket can pop out of its groove and then get pinched.

They certainly appear to be lacking a finish pass in the machining program. There is a set for sale in the classifieds where the seller says they caused leaks, but that Mark was going to fix them...
Cheers
