EFI Tuning help

Is there anyone in southern California that is familiar with the Euro One ecu made by Ole Buhl?
The car runs fantastic however it is running way too fat...8-9 mpg, very sooty inside exhaust pipe.
I know Chris at Turbokraft can adjust it( he installed it) but driving to az is impossible right now.
Any help is much appreciated.

I do not know of any turners in your area but may I suggest to check to make sure that your car don't have any boost leak? In other words make sure that there's no air leak in the intake plumbing from turbo to intake manifold. This may contribute to fooling the engine management computer to add fuel causing rich conditon. HTH

This is a MAP-based engine management, no air flow meter.
A vacuum or boost leak will affect the MAP, and thus the fuel & timing.

You can pressure & leak test the system.

You just went through the engine, right?

Motor has about 15,000 miles on it. One other thing I have noticed and that is the mechanical boost gauge,in place of the clock, will hit .8 bar and then drop to zero. I watch the small boost gauge and it will stay on approximate 1 bar until I lift, or decel. Could this be a symptom of boost leak?
When the big gauge goes to zero, the engine still pulls. I don't get that feeling of sudden loss of power , or getting pushed to the steering wheel.
The car is very fast. Could a small boost leak not hinder performance, but still fool the ecu into sending more fuel?
To check for a leak in boost, is it a visual check from turbo to I/c, and then I/c to throttle body? Or is there a more definitive test that can be performed?

I spent a couple of hrs last nite checking all vacuum lines, anything connected to intake fro turbo to throttle body. They looked good no cracking, all lines looked new. It runs great , just too much fuel being dumped.
Any idea how much it costs to ship my car to you, Chris, from Ventura area?

did it just all of a sudden start running rich? When does it run rich? All the time, just at WOT, idle?

Has it always done that? Could it be that the mech boost gauge is plumbed into the waste gate circuit? When the waste gate opens pressure drops, as does your gauge... No expert, just a thought.

that doesn't make much sense. Sounds like either that gauge is broken or the line to it is getting pinched. If the car is still pulling strong and the other gauge is reading boost I would say that gauge is not causing your rich condition

It's running rich at all phases, and has been since I bought the car. I took the car to my mechanic about 3-4 months ago with a laundry list with tuning the efi number one . After about 3mos he gave me the car back with a rebuilt front end, and said he needed a break from my car! What?
He built a 935 using the identical ecu so he very familiar with the system.
I'm searching for a new guy now that still wants to take my hard earned money.
Enough rant... I will check w/g lines. At least it runs like a bat outa hell.
There is a new Porsche garage in Santa clarita called r2 racing that says they can get it on a dyno and lean it a bit.
