Help getting started!!
I'm having a little trouble getting my car started now that the motor is rebuilt and back in.Thought it might be fuel at first but tank is half full with fresh gas and I cracked the line feeding into the fuel dist. and got good pressure and wet.(Can smell it too). I'm getting good spark out of one coil wire but no spark on the other one.I reversed the wires and both coils will throw out spark with the one good wire from the CDI.Should they both have spark when tested,or does one come on later? Will the car run on one CDI and only 6 spark plugs working? Also wondering if it matters which coil wire goes to which coil connection in the distributer cap.
The car ran extemely strong till I blew the motor and now I'm wondering if one of the CDI's went bad and that's why it popped. I'm quite sure I have all the spark plug wires correct but no spark when I pulled the no.5 plug. I've posted some pics. so you can see what I'm working with. I have never seen two cdi boxes but I have a 77 But methinks that second cdi setup is a mod and your setup will work with one cdi setup.
