xdi ignition settings.

i'm converting from a hpv to a xdi ignition using a map sensor and was wondering what the intial setting should be approx. i got a mostly stock3.3ltr, k27 running .8bar boost, b@b headers and exhaust, larger intercooler. if i use the settings i already have with the hpv in the car now what changes if any should i make to the settings on the xdi with the map sensor? thanks in advance(no pun intended), mick

Not sure I am clear on what you are asking. If you are upgrading to XDi you can find the installation manual here: Home - Electromotive Engine Controls

I am in the process of installing their TEC gt, which I believe uses the same crank sensor type. If so, then the initial setting is to install the sensor wheel so the missing teeth on the 58 (60-2) sensor wheel are at Z1 on #1 TDC, and the trailing edge of the 11th tooth are just under the crank sensor.

I hope I am being helpful, but not sure. Is this the setting you are asking about?

Page 26 discusses the use of a MAP sensor and how the software deals with it.

Set the INIT knob to "0" 3000 knob to 20, limiter to 6800 and that should give you a good baseline.

if i set the intial knob at 0 and the 3000 knob at 20 and the 8000 knob at 0 wouldn't this give me a total of 20? i thought you add the intial to the the 3000 then what you set the 8000 at is subtracted from that total. i'm kind of confused.

The system has 9-10 degrees at idle built in. I had received my set up info from Clewitt when I did the initial install.Re check the settings with a volt meter after the car is running just to be sure.Always remember the built in advance when making adjustments, but this is how my car has been running for 3 years now with no problems.Let me know if there is anything else.....Ben
