Intercooler and air filter cleaning

As a result of turbo seal failure, my intake system has been saturated in oil and I could use some suggestions on cleaning. *I sprayed a bunch of brake cleaner into the intercooler and sloshed it around and drained it. *Should that be sufficient or does it need to be really clean and dry? *The air filter is a k&n cone. I know it gets oiled with the filter fluid/oil, but what to do about the motor oil? Can I clean and reuse it? If yes, how should I clean it?

Thanks.

I used mineral spirit when my seals let go. I poured half a pint in there, sloshed it around and drained. I did this maybe 4 or 5 times until it came out clear and I then dried the intercooler using a hair drier on low setting for half an hour. As for the oil filter, how did the motor oil make its way up there? Isn't the turbo downstream from the air filter?
I would probably go with the regular K&N cleaning process and maybe do the detergent step a few times, you will see when it is out of there when it returns to the pink color....
