Finally home for the summer

Took the car out for a spirited drive yesterday and it was great fun. I just saw the tires I had bought for the wheels and they are fat WOW looking forward to getting them mounted checking on that today.

Just got the tires mounted today believe it or not at Wal mart only place within 60 miles that would do it I'll post a pic of them later I got 245's for the front and they were almost too narrow for the wheels. The guy at Wally world measured the wheels at 10 and 11.5 but I think Thatcher said they were 9.5's and 11's we will see when I go to mount them on the car if I have any difficulty.

Did they measure lip to lip or bead to bead?

Wow not much going on in the board! I haven't done much P-car work myself I have had tons of projects to do around the house like a 33' pool and deck and some landscaping projects. Has the economy put a hold on some of the projects people are working on?

I am sorry I didn't post a pic of the new tires and wheels mounted so here it is a lot of folks say the ride is harsher with 17's I have to dis-agree the car has a smoother ride and is more responsive with these wheels and tires.

No rubbing had to use 1/4 inch spacers on the front to clear the struts.

Oh Cole I wish I had some of the nice toys you had but I have been messing with projects around the house and had no time for car projects.

G Man:

I know the feeling I did 6-7 years of remodeling our old house and then designing and building the new one. All that time the sled was sitting in 1000 pieces. The most amazing part was I was actually able to find all the parts after all that time and 2 moves.

Wow! I had some issues with the car all related to living on a dirt road now the dust is getting into everything and causing electrical gremlins even though I have it all pretty sealed up. I found out that the stock bosch connectors don't seal out dust very good. Ideas on how to correct that? Now I took it out for a drive cleaned up the gremlins gone and heard the turbo spool up loud and clear and honestly that is the first time I think I have heard it!

G Man:

I've had good luck just using a scratch pad and solvent and then a small shot of dielectric grease. You can find the dielectric grease in a spray can that you can mist with rather than globing it on. While your at it get a spray can of lithium grease for everything else.

I just used the preval system to repair my bonnet where the filler had popped loose and I must say for a small repair it is excellent and well worth the cost.
