Difference in SC Heads VS Carrera Heads

So I had a set of SC heads that may not be coming back to me...... A story involved... I was looking at the valve sizes & port sizes of the SC heads & the Carrera heads. The Carrera heads have just a touch more intake & exhaust port sizes than the SC Heads. Is there any other difference in comparison?

Correct. The 3.2 heads breathe better than the SC heads by a small margin.

The intake and exhaust port studs different. The 3.2 heads got a reputation of poor valve guide life. Deserved or not, seriously consider having guides replaced if their status is an unknown.

3.2 heads

Is this a good upgrade with sc cams for our motors? Thinking of collecting parts for a top end rebuild. thanks Philip

IMHO, yes. It's going to require some port matching on the CIS intake manifold/injector blocks and judging from other posts on this site, it is not an easy process. You could go with CNC machined aluminum blocks available from a number of shops. On the other side of things, the exhaust ports should be matched with another style of header. Larger header primaries are in order for the 3.2 heads.

If anyone has interest in some Turbo Kraft injector blocks that have been slightly bored to match SC heads, keeping the CIS. I have a set that I will be sellling. I will be going EFI. Thanks for the responses!
