Can't Wait - RarlyL8

Been chasing cracks in the Pumpkin's headers the first few events this year. Talked to Brian and I have a set of his cool headers on the way early next week.

Can't Wait!

They add another 20bhp

Looks like there is a flange it`s holding together. Maby for fast dissembly or smaller for posting. Hmm. Or something else?

Two main reasons:

-Possible to aligne without preload -> no stress cracks

-Compensation of thermal expansion

@RarlyL8

Is there an improvement at the head flanges (welded-on bushes)? Or just to add some weight

The bushes on the head flanges are actually spacers that accommodate longer studs. They are spot welded on one end so if your engine has short spacers you can pop them off with a screw driver. Leaving them loose makes installation more difficult. The design is as installation friendly as practical without compromising performance.

This set was made for a race car which is why the springs were retained. The tubes move around a bit during the first few heat cycles. Slip joints at the collector allow the tubes to settle out and not be under stress as they can be if welded, leading to premature failure due to cracking. Once the tubes settle and harden the springs can be removed if desired.

Actually, my bride of 38 years was standing right there when i took that picture, smiling She said i looked like a 3 year old opening Chritmas presents ripping that box apart.

The proper selection of a mate is the key to a long life. I done good. (she has made out OK as well, I assure you).
