JB:

You were close with your assessment but not quite correct.

She is actually smiling because I can still get it up and
wondering how much it will cost to get me out of jail when
I finally get the Sled is running.

Yours doesn't pale Cole, quite the opposite! I'm a lazy check book tuner, yours is from your own hand, you'll have a far larger grin on your face behind the wheel.....

In Thailand for the next month, so I'm grinning enough :-)
All the best mate, and keep keeping it up!

Looks flat black. No bling. I really like your style.

What paint can withstand those temps?

JBL:

A check book tuner, just goes to show you how much smarter
than me you are !!!

Thailand ----- Gives me chills, I spent 16 1/2 mo. ,working,
out of Udorn in 1962-64, it sucked. And when I was ,working, in the
neighboring countries it really sucked. A part of my misspent youth
I try to never remember. God, I may even have children and
grandchildren there. I understand it's a wonderful place to visit now,
hope you enjoy.

Jesper:

I use VHT Flame Proof Header Paint ( Silicone Ceramic Coating)

Temperature: 1300F-2000F (704C-1093C)

Applications: Headers, Exhaust Manifolds, Piston Domes

Finish: Flat

It works well if you do it correctly. Sand blast or glass bead the pipe
first and then 2 light & 3 finish coats by following the instructions. Wait 7
days and cure in oven as follows.

Paint must be completely dry before curing
Heat to 250F (121C) for 30 minutes
Cool for 30 minutes
Heat to 400F (204C) for 30 minutes
Cool for 30 minutes
Heat to 650F (343C ) for 30 minutes

It will have changed beyond recognition since the 60's Cole, I've only been coming here for 10 years, mainly for the diving, but the people are lovely, the food and weather are epic too.... For the last 5 years over the Xmas and new year period I head out here with my brother, he loves his golf, so it suits us both.... Plus we're single which also has it's benefits ;-)

G Man:

I figure we'll be getting her out about May. Gives me the time to finish
up and check out all the systems before I take it on the road.

I'm presently waiting for some seals and a couple of stub axel bolts to
and get here from the fatherland then I can finish up the drivetrain.

I drug the old bumper out last week to fit the Zork and wastegate
cutout and do a little glass work so I can get it off to Bob for paint. Haven't
even looked at this thing in 15 -16 years. This afternoon I blew about 8 pounds
of dust off and clamped it in place. I think it's going to look pretty good.

Yes the bumper looks real good I have renewed my efforts to get my classic blazer sold so I can use that money to finance p-car parts i am leaning toward getting the body parts so I can start working on that and then put the carpet in. The way I am going to do this I can take the bodywork off to do the motor work so painting is not an issue. I hope you can get her running sooner than May but then again it might just be thawing out by then so the timing is right.
