Cole my man - you are on my bucket list of Pelicanites/930ers I want to come and visit.
I have been watching the progress of course and waiting for a suitable moment when I might catch up with a few of you near one place at a time.
The vid footage I guess is one way I can say THANKS to all the 930 guys that helped me get this thing on the track. They have made an old school/old guy very happy, and continue to do so. Glad to hear the health is good. You have kept the Porsche/930 community entertained for so long now, it might almost be sad to see the journey completed - but I'm sure we can come up with some more mods once it is rumbling.:-)
Regards
Alan

Cole,
After reading all these posts I though I'd begin my first Pelican post here. The work you accomplished is amazing! I too am working on a serious build. Nice to know ther are others that share this level of enthusiasm and attention to detail. All the best to you. Marc

Thought I'd ramble a little to try and recover my sanity. Seems like everything

I've started I get my dick steped on.

Decided to get the new 044's installed and test the fuel system and of

course the fuel pumps wouldn't run. Went through the fuel system wiring.

cleaned connectors, rang all the wiring, new relays, new correct fuses, all

safeties good, all grounds cleaned an checked. "ALL RIGHT" pumps run ........

but no fuel coming through WTF. Pull both pumps back out and power each

to test, no fuel moving at all not even a drop. Now, these are new pumps

so, I'm thinking maybe there is a punch out plug installed in one of the two

ends. I start taking the fittings apart and looking for a plug somewhere and

I notice the pumps come with check valves on the outlet ends. I take the

check valves off and don't see any plugs so I picked up a check valve and

blow through it, nothing, no air moving, the check valves were installed

backwards. Needless to say two 044 Bosch fuel pumps will blow gas the

length of my drive way if the check valves are installed correctly.

Two New 044's :

Tried to get some loose ends done so we can try starting the Old Girl:

I Installed a pressure transducer to log control pressure back to the SSI-4

I made a mounting bracket and installed the transducer in the CP line

between the WUR to the fuelhead

Finished up the wiring for the lights, installed the bulbs, and I now know how

Tomas Edison felt:

Took last week off for our yearly Road Trip to Mayo for the Cancer check ups

and all is well with the Old Guy and especially for my sweet sweet daughter.

I'm just starting to put together an air intake for the CIS. Trying to get a

lot of clean, cool air. Once that's done I will reinstall the IC and we will fire

this old tub up !!!!!

Can you say 5" intake air stack !!!!

Hey Cole - looking great!

If the 5" air stack proves to be too restrictive, maybe you can figure out how to mate one of these to the metering assembly!

won't work.

Cole, that stack looks awesome.

Still have not found any other 934 factory docs, other than what I sent you.
Rare stuff, I will keep looking.

When are you going to start this bloody thing up.
Ya killing me here !

Vas:

Great to hear from you mate. I've been sniffing out some Bosch factory
stuff on 934 CIS, nothing in my hands yet but hopefully we will find
something soon. I also sent what you got me out to an Adobe Guru
that thinks he can darken all the text for us and that would be great.

Glad you approve of the Stack I thought, I just had to have one.

Putting the IC back on tomorrow, for the final time I hope. I do have
to get a 2nd tach wire pulled and hooked up to the SSI-4 and then
we can try starting it.

Wish me Luck.

Alan:

P20 is an event put on yearly called Porsches to Ohio. It's a
weekend cruise in. They usually have a couple hundred P cars
there each year. Mikie (MikeD94) always goes and then stops
by my place for the nite and goes the rest of the way home
the next day. He and I end up staying up most of the nite
talking Porsches. He's a great guy and I really enjoy seeing
him each year.

Marc:

I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Most here are die hard, insane, 930 fanatics just like us.
We all love these old sleds and I am just one of many. I have not done
anything special here and you will find builds here that make the "Sled"
look like the gum on the bottom of someone's shoe. I'm just a dumb
ass old man in his tiny ass garage chasing a 30 year old dream.

I will be looking forward to you posting your car and joining the
madness, don't be shy, everyone here is certifiably insane .

Cole you crack me up.
Mark, And there are others of us who try to sneak into the club by turbcharging their SC.
Looking forward to seeing the build and if I could offer some advice, a wise man (cole) once told me, Jeremy, when it comes down to it, "it's just nuts and bolts" and that gave me the confidence to finish my build.
Cheers!

Are you worried at all about the larger particles getting in and sandblasting your internals? And yes some of us try to sneak in with my lowly 2.7 turbo it will never be up to the 930 Standards even after the coilovers, G50, and updated brakes oh and 3.2 SS motor

Thanks man I'm glad you like it, I thought it turned out pretty well. I
always thought they were such a cool piece and I wasn't liking what I
was doing so I figured, what the hell, give it a shot. I'm pleased.

G Man:

Turbo powered is always welcome as long as the badge on the nose
says PORSCHE regardless of displacement.

The screen is very fine and it's stainless. It's much better than what
934's used on track. I also made 6 aditional screens and I have some
air filter foam I can insert between 2 screens if needed.

Hey Cole!! I'm glad to hear that your health checked good at the Mayo! Regarding your Old Sled I like that 5” air stack. It looks so proper on your beast! Have you thought about adding a shield to act as a water guard for when you wash your car or drive in a rain? Something more for you to worry about…sorry about that!
