I'd like to see what you do to install those seats. What do they weigh? Philip

Thanks Guy's I was really stoked over these !!!!

Seats are carbon fiber and weigh 15# each with rails and sliders 26# each

For the old guy it can't get any better than this.

I Call BS - old, No Way.

Old guys drive caddies or olds mobiles. Or maybe an odyssey, like me.
I don't know how you cook your oats, but please tell me.

Cole, you rock. If your wife really gave you those seats -Give her my regards.

Judging by the pictures earlier on. I estimate you to be about three times my age ( I am thirty six... ) how you manage to go about this the way you do is truly inspiring.

I once passed an older guy - late sixties, in a long dist run. He was struggling a bit, and told me he had been drinking the night before, so I gave him some of my water.
Had I been drinking, I wouldn't have completed that race. I was thirty, and fit, at the time.

You are like that in a Porsche way - humbling.

I hope to be driving my Porsches for many years, even if I have to build a lift to get and out, or maybe just live in it.

Wow Cole I just spent the last 2 hours reding about your project - both you and your car - and BOTH are an inspiration. Can't wait to hear about your first drive in the re-born machine.
I hope we can drink a beer (or three) and talk Porsches in person someday. And THANKS again for the WG cap - you are The Man. :-)

Philip & Lincoln.

These were the easiest set of seats I've ever installed. I have only installed
the drivers seat so I can finish some wiring and programming at the wiring chassis
I added under the Passengers seat.

Only took about 20 min. to mount the drivers seat. I simply bolted the
sliders to the seat rails, set the side mounts on the sliders and put two bolts
in each finger tight, measured 17" between the two side mounts and
tightened the bolts down. The seat sat easily between the side mounts and
I lined up the side mount holes with the seat holes inserted the four bolts
and it was a done deal. Be sure to put your actuator bar in between the
sliders before you set the seat down in. Sliders work as smooth as glass and
I have the full range of travel for and aft. The seats are a little wider in the butt,
set lower, and are much more comfortable than my Sparco's were. I'm
really pleased with them and the look killer in the car.

G Man:

Thanks and I do love these seats.

I was final testing fuel lines and blew the only 32 year old fitting I
didn't replace. It was the original return line at the rear of the tunnel,
Go Figure. I was going to have to remove the trans cross member to
get at the fitting. I was so pissed I just walked away from the car for a
couple weeks. I just finished replacing the old line and fittings with new
6AN teflon lined line last weekend. Since my new seats got here and
it's been nice to get away from the fuel line stuff for a while. I'll get
back at it this weekend.

Hope your projects are progressing well.

Jesper:

I am old. I'll be 70 in March. I still smoke a couple packs a day, drink
3-4 pots of strong black coffee each day, and only need 5-6 hours of
sleep each nite. I can still crawl in and out from under the car with the
best of them and usually out work most of them. I need new glasses
and I cant hear worth a damn. The not hearing is a blessing because
it's usually someone trying to tell what I should or should not do and
I wouldn't pay any attention to them anyway. I have a strict policy on
running. You never run anyplace you can drive.

I am a very lucky man in that my lovely wife is truly a saint and she
did buy me the seats for Christmas. She does fully understand my long
love affair with the Old Sled.

Hope things are going well for you. I have always been very impressed
with the way you have taken to your car and how much you have
progressed in such a short period of time. I'm afraid you have been bitten
for sure. But !!! That's a good thing.

Great to have you on board with us. The WG Cap, it was my pleasure to
helped you out.

To spend 2 hours reading an old man's ramblings you must not have
much of a social life ..... Just kidding, I'm flattered you took the time and
hope you found something useful in it.

It would be a pleasure to meet you and although I would forgo the beer,
that's a story for another time, I do keep beer on hand for company, I will
always discuss Porsche's. I live in Northern Indiana and my door is always
open, if you can stand the pain in the ass dog the trip is worth the time as
my wife is the sweetest woman in the world and an incredible cook.

If there is ever anything I can help you with feel free to give me a call.

Hey Cole!!

What a nice early Christmas gift from your wife! You must feel like a kid again! Yeah, those C/F seats are light aren't they? I find mine to be super easy to remove and reinstall like you said. The main complaint I have is that it's not easy to have access to the back since the seats don't tilt forward.

About the 32 year old fuel return fitting...did you apply high pressure? I'm sure the return fuel pressure is normally low. But no matter since you upgraded the lines and fittings.

Happy Thanksgiving!

p.s. Are you going to start wearing seat belts?!? I thought you never will!

That's a bummer on the blown fitting but on the bright side you now have good Teflon hoses in the tunnel and all new fittings. As for seats those look great and as for my dream I hope to add the d-zug CF lollipops to my car in the future

Ken:

I've had those belts stuffed away for years because I always imagined how
they would look in the right interior. I really like the look and the red is as
close to bling as the old guy gets.

Mikie:

Hope your doing well my friend, always thinking of your car as I do things
on the Sled.

Fuel return line was Claude (my Dad) letting me know I wasn't doing what
he taught me. Also having to remove the trans cross member to get at the
fitting was from him so I wouldn't forget what I was taught.

I figured if I had to sit on the belts I might use them more. I made a pact
with the Sled a long time ago that if she goes we go.

Sheila said Hi !!!!! and I can smell ribs, wish you were here.

GJF:

Thank you for your kindness but it's important to know " even a blind hog
finds an acorn now and then." There certainly is nothing special about what
I've done here. I look at it as the final result of correcting all the bad decisions
I made getting here.

And as a special note: You guy's and this forum have given me much more
than I have given you. You all gave me the support to keep going at a time when
I was told I was out of options. I will be forever great full to each of you bums
and I will never forget .

Coming from you I consider your comment the supreme compliment
Your build makes the Sled look like a pedal car.

Bri'

Hope my good luck isn't a result of you getting my bad luck. Hang in there !!!!

The silver large round gizmo is a magnetic level to set the turnbuckles on the IC
so I'm level in both directions. Behind the level is my BOV and the clamp for it.
I have to get a 50 mm O ring in the morning before I can mount the BOV.

Hope all goes well for you on the Grey Ghost !!!!!

Bait:

I was thinking about you just this afternoon. Hope your all healed up and driving
the wheels off that buzz bomb you bought. You need to post some pics of it.

My wife knew I have had those seats on my wish list since I first saw them. I
of course blew by my budget for those seats a long time ago. It was really
great of her, she really is the greatest. I wondered why my one son in law was
asking questions about if I was going to get different seats. He was gathering
all the information for my wife. It worked as I had no idea and when the shipper
called and said I had a pickup at the office I had no idea what it was. The seats
are KILLER !!!!!

Wish you the best and stay safe, give Sophi a hug for me.
