Ah, I see what those gadgets are now. I need to read up on those BOV's; where are you plugging it in?
The old slant will be fixed soon, there isn't much left that hasn't been changed out! Ha!

Jesper:

Thanks Bud, I'm really pleased with the IC.

The neatest thing is that Chris and I were able to work on the design
together and get a great IC that was tailored to my car and engine.

Some of the things that were considered were keeping the IC as far
to the rear as we could. That allows the air to be pulled through the
core, down over the turbo / exhaust and out the bumper vent slots and
opening below. The placement of the IC that far back leaves a lot of
space open in the engine bay for easier access without always having
to always remove the IC. The large louvered grill area in the tail is no
longer totally blocked by the IC and that allows an abundance of air to
get to the top of the motor.

The IC has 360 sq. in. of surface area with a thinner core. It's perfect
for a street car because it does not heat soak easily and the cooling
efficiency stays high. The tanks were specifically designed for the core
size and the inlet and outlet were kept short with no convoluted bends.
The IC can be removed and on the bench in 5 min. 3 turnbuckles secure
the IC in place and it can not lift, shift, or move. Just a well thought out
design for the application and I could not be more pleased with the
quality and simplicity of the finished product.

Bri:

The BOV is a Synchronic. It is mounted on the back right corner
of the IC . A 50mm Tial weld on BOV flange is on the IC end tank
and the BOV also has a 50mm flange attached and it uses a rubber
O ring and a V band clamp to mount the BOV. Really an excellent
unit.

When you put the buzz bomb back together be sure you put the trans
back on the correct end of the motor.

That vinyl deal fascinates the hell out of me. Hope you'll post some of
that operation. That's way cool.

Sophi !!!! What a girl, hope you gave her the biggest drumstick.

Carrier:

Thanks man, that's really kind of you.

When I first started dinking with Porsche's I would buy one, clean and
straighten it up and flip it and go on to the next one. That's how I was
able to eventually buy the Sled. I've never been much more than a hack
but as I went along I learned a lot from my mistakes.

Appreciate your kindness !!!!

Truly awesome stuff here, way to go! I've been preoccupied with house and boat stuff for past two years so I haven't been here on the forum too often. Just read through this thread over the weekend - very exciting to read about all the progress - can't wait to hear about the "old sled" rumbling back to life. Really a unique ride you got there, and the journey seems to have been just as interesting!

I'm on the extreme other end of a project - going to do the clutch, convert the ignition and boost control to full digital, adjust the valves and some other "while you're in there" stuff. Got to get the heating and insulation set up in the garage first though!

Cheers

It's been way too long since we have heard from you, great to see your back.

I've done the house thing so I understand completely !!!!! I got the bright idea I
was going to design and build my lovely wife a new house. Took 5 years nites and
weekends ........ I do not recommend this as a Do it Yourslf Project. But !!!! the
house turned out great and the smile on my wifes face was worth every second
of it.

Thanks for the kind kudos !!!! The sled project was much like building another
house but I'm finally getting close to completion. And I have actually enjoyed
doing it.

Great to have you back amoungst us !!!!!!

Well every thing is back in place and ready to go with the exception of attaching
the BOV to the IC. I'm waiting on a $4.95 flange Oring to get here so I can
mount the BOV.

Think I will spend my time spinning up some oil pressure and checking the
idiot lights, get a few gal. of fresh gas and get things ready to go. Still need
to mount the rear bumper and Bob is working on the prep and paint of the
Tail,

The office sent some kind of new phone and it's supposed to do everything
but make coffee !!!!!!

The print in the manual is too small to read but I did figure out how to make a
call. That's all I needed anyway. If it made coffee that would be two things I
would use it for.

Where the hell have you been Bud !!!! We miss you here and need stimulating
conversation, witty humor, and thought provoking concepts.

Hope you are doing well as I can't imagine you not being knee deep in some
of these conversations.

Thanks for the commit !!!! Coming from you I am very flattered.

Jim Fairman and I were talking about you today and wondering where you
were at. I've thought of you often while I was doing a lot of this.... get your butt
back on board.

Thank you.... it has been a lot of fun aside from the usual frustrations that
come with a project that's a little outside the box, no matter though I already
had grey hair.

This is more like "when old school met master craftsman."
You're in a league all your own. Awesome.

I'm glad you like the car and it has been fun doing it but I am a long way
from a Master Craftsman. You guy's would crack up if you could see what
I work with and where I work. I just have fun and hope this thing stays
together once it's done.

If you want to see the Master Craftsman take a look at some of the stuff
Motley 911, GJF, and Jim 2 do. I'm way to old to ever make it to that level.
