Roland:

I know what you mean. I have a basement rec, room that is next
to the Sled garage. I was contemplating putting a large bay window
in it so I could look out upon the Sled from my coach.

Win:

Thanks man !!! That's exactly what I said after I rolled the old girl
outside for the first time last Sat.

Bri:

That's not as funny as it seems. My wife said if I could get one of
those cargo nets I could hook it to the uprights on the tail and she
could use the Sled to haul groceries.

Paul:

I thank you sir as I consider your opinion expert as you have filmed
some of the best.

BusMan:

I used those mirrors for two reasons:

1, They went well with the 964 Turbo S LM look I wanted.

2. They were cheap, $100 for the pair.

Gabe:

Nice to hear from you and I hope all is going well for you. Thanks for the responce, getting here was a tough trip !!!!!!

That is just so awesome I am totally happy for you such a big accomplishment! I have decided that when I do my rework on my car that I am going to do it in house I am going to get my painting equipment soon and start practicing also decided for now to rebuild my other 2.7 motor to take 1 bar boost and slowly work on getting the drive train for big hp later. Again CONGRATS!

Looks purposeful, like a factory team body-in-white. Awesome stuff, Cole. I love when this thread gets bumped.

Cole
I have enjoyed your stories, your humor, the re-build of the "old sled" and mostly, your determination.

Your journey reminds me of a quote by Gentleman Jim Corbett:
When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard - fight one more round.
When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired that you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep - fight one more round
- remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.

Congratulations Cole - it must feel great to stand back in the garage and savor what you have accomplished. I am looking forward to the next round in your bout with the "old sled".

Richard.

Drag out the video cam, light her up my friend, and let 'er rip! I'm tired of drooling on my keyboard. 712 posts and 59,091 views says that just a couple people are waiting with baited breath! I've got a feeling she's gonna haul some major ass down the road.

But hey, I can relate to making sure the cherished moment is absolutely perfect. It's the OCD in me.....

Guy's sorry about not responding. This GM project I'm setting up is
kicking my butt time wise and I have had very little free time.

G Man:

Thank you I'm gald you like the Sled. I'm near the end here and maybe
you can pick up where I leave off. Your build would be a good one. Looking
forward to seeing what you have planned.

Spenny:

Thanks buddy, it has been a long haul and I couldn't have done it with
the support all you have shown me.

Ken:

I always knew the car was going to end up white and I was lucky
enough to find a good white car to start with. I knew what I wanted
to end up with and always lusted after the factory race teams white
cars
I was very surprised to hear you describe it as purposefull as that is
exactly what I intended when I started all this. I wanted neat clean
and functional. I do not like bling, flash and trash, or ricer s---.
Thank You !!!!!

Uncle:

You have really set the bar for getting a project done, Great work
and the car looks killer. Keep it comming !!!!

Richard:

You my friend are one of the greatest, I have been in awe of your
build ever since I first saw your thread. I sincerely thank you for your
help with the engine truss as it saved me a lot of time and worked
perfectly.

Loved the story and understand it completely as I have always
been rather stubborn and have no quit in me. I learned a long time
ago if I couldn't beat them I damn sure could outlast them.

GJF:

You and Richard are my heros. You two are the very best and have
been an inspiration to me throughout this whole project. I am nowhere
close to you two but I did the best I could with what I had and a lot of
that came from you two. I Sincerely Thank Both Of You !!!!!!

Bait:

Presently my back yard is a swamp and I'd need ores to get the Old
Girl to dry ground right now. A couple good days of sunshine and I'll be
able to get to the street.

Mr. Carroll:

Just think now you might get something done around the shop
without me bothering you every other day. I will be forever greatfull
for your help.

Not to worry about the sheriff, he and I shared our mispent
youth together drinking 3/2 beer in Ohio and and breaking the law
all the way home. He will certainly pull me over, but it will be to
drive the car.

Mr. Gimpy:

It is going to happen in the next few days and I'll tell ya all about it.

Now that the Sled is done "Your IT !!!" I'm waiting on the turbo
swap now !!!!!!

Cole

Vas:

Great to hear from you Mate, I hope all is well with you and the car is
ready to hit the track. I wondered if you ever got your new wheels and
would love to see some pics. of them.

Glad you liked the Old Sled and thank you !!!!

Paul:

That pic looks like you had been here. The Sled is tucked in the garage
staying dry but it won't have to be there long.

I'm planning on the maiden voyage this weekend as long as we have no
more rain. If this weather holds out for another day I'll move the Sled
up-top to the other garage. No mud up there.

Dont be surprised the Porsche factory calls you and wants to buy it back from you and throw some numbers on it and stick it in the museum over in the fatherland.

Car looks real good.

I am anxious to hear about how it runs with the new CIS system and how much hp it free'd up.

Congrats for taking on this challenge and kickin some butt. I really like your determination and never give in until its done attitude.

Hopefully someday I get a chance to see the car in person.....how far is Summit Point raceway from your place, hint hint.

Fred
