please tell me where 'this' goes? (no, not overheard in my bedroom)

Say, can anyone tell me where this goes? In my infinite geniusdom I figured "yeah I'll remember all this"... 4wks later and I'm befuddled. I rule:

It's zinc plated and has a very defined 'schmutz' outline on the backside.

Headers are up, WG's on, turbo's up w/ cold side & oil lines on, just ("just") need to bolt to flange, add exhaust & bumper and CROSS F'N FINGERS!!!

Bueller?

I say 'just' as I know I'll be struggling with that goofarse twisted turbo bracket. The black 'triangular' verticle bracket that the twisted bracket bolts into the case thru is 'pulling out' at the bottom, I need to determine how to relieve the tension on it above but that part is behind the tin.

Any tricks here would be great as well.

2:20am last night and 1 and 12:30 the night's prior - fuchme I'm tired. NH tomorrow w/ any luck...

It's the washer for the bumper shock mount. 1 on each side, prob fell off when the bumper was removed.

turbo bracket

You will probably need to cut the bracket, as your headers will not be an exact fit as the hex were. I cut mine, hung turbo, tacked bracket while bolted to turbo, and block. remove and weld. Philip

You could leave the bracket off for now until you modify it. That rarlyl8 exhaust is rather light and well supported. You'll need to modify it anyway when you upgrade to my K27-7200

thanks for that vote of confidence Stevo! I was pretty much already predisposed to doing exactly that w/o even getting to that point yet lol.

Jah mon, def hit me up on yer 7200 whenst yer ready! Prob is I've run out of parts off my car to pimp to fund the purchase heh heh. Shipped the last bits off today - buhbye heat exchangers, air injectors, spider, oil lines, drip tank etc. 8-)

Didn't realize the 7200 required bracket tweak - good to know prior for when that day eventually comes. Gotta say, I was floored to find my 52k 3LDZ tight as a whistle w/ zero axial or radial play.

I thought oil journal'd KKK's were supposed to have 'some' play? Regardless, was pleasantly surprised considering my occassional smoke. My ex valves looking like a crack junkie's pipe pretty much answered *that* question 8-)...

Many who upgrade to the 7200 go sans bracket, but I would still plan to use it eventually to help keep the weight of the turbo off your headers and muffler. I probably won't upgrade until next year, but you'll be the first to know when it's available. The 7200 is about 10mm wider on the exhaust side, which requires a bracket adjustment.

easy just cut the bracket where the bend is. bolt everything up then weld it back together. i had to do it the first time and then again when i changed header brands. Too much flex in everything if you choose not to use the bracket (I tried that route first).

Thanks Steve / Ken.

So running it sans bracket for a few weeks or so should be OK it sounds?

Means I'll have to tear back in there when I can get a welder back over here - yay. Not.

Many run for years without the bracket with no problems. More of a re-assurance that the headers aren't under stress and crack from the turbo weight. Many posts on PP about the bracket mods.

I decided to install the bracket and just machined slots for adjustment rather than cutting and re-welding. Either way it can be a biatch to do depending on alignment, etc. and if you want to get it back together in a hurry go without it for now. Just means you will have to pull it all apart again when you do want to do it.

Ahh Porsches are fun aren't they.......

you'l be fine without it, just make sure your muffler is supported by its bracket. I did the cut, tack, weld method when I modified my bracket for the 7200 upgrade.
