930 second gear in Switzerland taller - why?
OK my technical specifications book (82-83) arrived today, which is a wealth of information. However one "fact" is that in Switzerland, second gear is taller than in other countries.
Does anyone here know why? ![]() ![]() |

I think I have heard about this before.
I may be because of emissions and the topographic layout of Switzerland. Where second gear low speed driving is maybe more used than other places. I think "Profighter" would know.

Hmm, never heard of that. But this not means it cannot be, because Switzerland is often doing our own thing. I know that we do not had the 87 turbo with 5-speed in cause of the emision failure. Only 4-speed up to the 965
It would be interesting, which spec book you have. I checked mine, but no special gear ratios, only Japan, US and RDW (ROW) specs vary I also checked my german service manual (copy of an swiss original) nothing too. But I have the possibility to see certificate of conformity and will check, but this takes a little time, so please be patient. Chris129, are you from Switzerland? Can you tell me the transmission type 930/?
