It seems that a lot of the old school modded parts that were made are now on cars and still can be bought with the car for way less than people pay for these parts to upgrade their stock one. The 930 project evolved into the production version to appeal to a broader market. Unlike most cars that started out as a production pedestrian version then were hot rodded into a race car or with much higher performance capabilities the 930 was developed in reverse. Maybe that is the mind set of some that avoid the modded ones. Of course there are some 930 builds that get a little over the top, abused ( lots of stock ones also were ) or were poorly or incorrectly done. Many of the major racecar builders from that era also built cuustomer cars for dual use ( street & weekend track ) and some used factory developed parts. Some cars since built are also very well done and should be considered when thinking of getting a 930. There are still some nice ones out there at a fraction of what it takes if you like a personalized car already done, similar to the way you would build it.
