1976 930 gearbox
Any help with this matter would be gratefully received. The last few outings has seen 2nd gear synchro wear to the point it now needs replacing. Shifting at low revs there is no crunch what so ever, however at speed it crunches. My local mechanic has stripped the relevant part of the gearbox to inspect the parts. 2nd gear dog teeth have worn and the shift sleeve has is worn. When I contacted Porsche for the parts they inform that the shift sleeve 930 302 411 00 is no longer available and that i need to a complete new gear set which i cannot afford. I have sourced 2nd gear synchro ring and dog teeth gear just need the shift sleeve (930 302 411 00), if anyone knows where i may source a new one or even a good condition second hand one i would be forever in your debt.

The part I need is 1st-2nd synchro sleeve for a 1976 3.0 turbo.

IIRC you can use the 78-88 op sleeve you would loose the nice shifting in to first gear. Most parts places have superceded the part number to the later part. I sourced a early op sleeve for for my 82 so that it would shift into low gear better.
