That was a 1977 Turbo Carrera and yes it is one of his. And I do agree it does sound good.

Jacob,

Any problems with the AFR sensor installed that close to the turbo? How long have you been running the sensor in that position?

Regards, Dave

I'm on my 2nd sensor. The first one lasted about 2 years.

Thanks guys, the goal remains to offer options on sound level and tailpipe configuration that are mix and match so you can create what you want in a system. ALL of the sound levels allow the same power production from your engine. The ID is 3" straight through all the way which is the same as a Zork tube.
The O2 bung is included for tuning purposes. For a permanent install a heat sink should be used.

Brian, on this set up for the driver's side exit, you have a pretty sharp 180 deg bend after the muffler. if this were a passanger side exit eliminating the bend would you get better flow, more power and a different sound?

I think PS exit would be better at getting the heat out from under the bumper... And, would look a lot cleaner from the back side

Slightly off topic...
Brian could you fab a straight through "zork" to the existing tailpipe in the C2 Turbo? This would complement my test pipe and drop some weight, while leaving the symmetrical tailpipes. If you need a sample of the current Waste Gate Catalytic Converter Pipe, I can supply that.

Thanks,
Mark

I used to make a passenger's side exit tailpipe with a matching driver's side exit WG pipe. This setup was discontinued due to all the fitment problems created by aftermarket headers and turbos combined with the limited adjustability of short tailpipes. It is always an option to run custom tailpipes off our muffler body and waste gate stubby flange.

There is no performance advantage with the PS tailpipes when compared to the 180 single or dual out systems. From what we have seen on the dyno the 3" ID is sufficient for up to 400WHP. The sound is of course louder due to reduced tial pipe length.

We just finished a system for the C2T which will use the same interchangeable muffler bodies, one of which is a bypass pipe. The stock tailpipes are retained. This system replaces the entire OEM system for a huge total weight loss. Paul B was a great help with this and has the prototype system on his beautiful charcoal colored 965. We'll offer this to Pelican as well after a few more positive feedbacks from systems in the field.

I have my 930 system for sale, and I'm in San Diego. See link. This setup sounded great and gives a wicked kick in the back on boost.

That's why I bought the dual out setup from Brian. Right where that bend is their is a cutout for the passenger side pipe. Total free flow IMHO.

My home grown solution, at least until 2014 when I no longer need to pass emissions testing. Ugly yes, but the catalytic converter allows me to pass annual testing without excessive time spent playing with the mixture.

Note the large sheet of copper on top of the pipe between the cat and the turbo. On top I have an O2 sensor for the Innovate A/F system.

Originally this was intended to be a temporary fix used just for emissions testing. But it flows up to 500 HP, works pretty well and is a PITA to take on and off. After 2014 one of Brian's systems will be installed.
