I did, but now that I think about it, might want to double check b/c I dont recall if I pulled the linkage to see if it would open more.

Curious, does a 930 J-pipe bolt onto the 911SC heat exchangers OK?

I know it's not an optimal design, but it could be a cheap solution for an initial low boost system... and one can use any 930 exhaust with that solution too

Depending on the year of your friends car, you may have to source the early ones if you have an early SC. I believe the later years have thicker flanges so you will need longer exhaust studs.
Also the later ones I beleive were designed with a small lip which seats in the head but not sure if that would be an issue witan an early SC.

Not 100% as I did not go that route, but you're right would have been much cheaper than what I did.

Yes the J-pipe bolts to the sc heat exchangers. An easy part of the conversion. I believe the 930 and the sc use the same exchangers...at least the euro and later turbo version.
