Martini 935 Stripes on my 930
I have loved these Martini stripes since I was a kid. I have always wanted to craft a set of the side stripes for my 930. Being a graphics guy I broke down and gave into the temptation and created these side stripes in 3M vinyl and installed them a couple weeks ago. I think they turned out pretty well. Let me know your thoughts.

The top stripes you may have seen before. They are magnetic.

I have added these to my website catalogue:MagnaGrafik Home - Porsche Graphics, Magnetic Decals for Porsche, Magnetic Hood Stripes, Magnetic Stone Guards, Carbon Fiber Graphics, Vinyl Graphics, Porsche 911 Carrera Boxster Cayman Turbo Decals, Martini Racing Stripes, 911 914 930 935 944 964 96

holy crap that looks really good!!!

Quite impressive. If mine was white I would absolutely do that. Looks great, particularly with the white wheels.

Are you running Dunlops on one side and Pirelli on the other?

Yes, he is. I meant to ask about it and forgot. I saw this car at P2O and the graphics were very nice.

Wow Dan,
Thanks for your Turbo fast email this morning.
Your work is beautiful and as I mentioned to you earlier, your website is magnificent.
Your photography is impressive and your content is very informative.

Believe it or not those are a product I have been testing. I call them vintage tire decals. I put them on back in the spring to see how well they stuck. So far so good.

Here's a close-up. I also made a set in yellow to match the lettering used on the 935's.
Fun stuff.

I like them!

That looks great!

Me likey!!! I'm very tempted to do my white with the Martini stripes but would have to warm up to all that fabulous color, though, being accustomed to white and black only. Maybe just go with the black Turbo side emblems and black hood stipe. Decisions......what an eye-catcher. Will they make my car go faster?

I should at least go with the Porsche windshield emblem. I think the "O" in Porsche will just about fit right over the huge "dent" that asteroid rock made in my 'shield the other day.

One word AWESOME!!!!

I officially want to thank you for ruining my dream paint scheme. I was planning something similar with a silver base color

so between this fine looking example and the 2 other flat black 930's I have seen in this forum, I am back to the drawing board.

Very nice work on the vinyl!!

IMR...these stripes would look great on a silver widebody. Maybe even better than the white...

I am waiting to get some photos from a customer in Germany who is installing these stripes on his black 88 930. We made them like the Martini "black widow" stripes found on the first 936. See below.

Your white 930 looks fantastic with the stripes.
Please post pics from the black one when available.

I love the tire letters. Any more info on those?

That looks Awsome!

Great car

I haven't added the tire decals to our catalogue yet. They will be priced pretty reasonably...maybe $29 for a set of 8.

The key to getting them to stick is to thoroughly clean a smooth section of your tire with a "Gunk" or similar engine degreaser. Then wipe with IP alcohol to make sure you have all the grease removed. Inspect the tire and remove any of the small rubber "nipples" so the decal lays flat. Next, squeegie the decal on. That simple.

I'd be happy to make a set for you if you'd like to give them a try.

Falk930 08-24-2011 07:18 AM

hmm, have to watch the pics from your 930 again+again.
have you thought about painting rear spoiler top white and put the stripes there too?

dpixxi 08-24-2011 07:36 AM

Falk...the original 935 did not carry the stripes over the top of the rear wing. They stopped at the top of the rear window.

That's not to say they wouldn't look nice the way you describe.

In design sometimes it's not what you do that makes good design, it's what you don't do.

Tyfaim 08-24-2011 08:56 AM

Wow that looks great! I would be interested in the tire decals as well.

dpixxi 08-24-2011 05:08 PM
