Distributor Question

Does anyone know off hand if there was a Euro version of the 86 930 distributor, or were they all the same? If not can a 78-79 Euro distributor be run in the 86 for different power delivery? I remember replacing the US version in my brothers 78 930 with a 78 Euro version, and it made quite a difference. Any input would be appreciated.

The smog controls on all 930's were very similar from '86-'89, including the distributor.
There is an advantage using the early Euro distributor as it has a more aggressive timing curve.

Did the 78-79 US cars have the same as euro distributor or was it specific to the US?

I know the fuel heads and injectors were the same as Euro for these US cars but not sure on the dizzy?

No the '78/9 USA cars has a smog distributor. The early Euro is easy to spot as it has only one pot with an idle vac retard nipple.

If you do a search on here there is a lot of info. on the different distributors and their functions and will answer all your questions.

Some cars have one vac/boost line and some have 2.
