I have found better rates with Grundy and they have been easy to deal with. I have several cars in this kind of insurance and I currently have both companies. I will eventually move to one.

What's the secret to the low rate you've got? Last time I ran a quote from Haggerty on my '87 it was close to $748 with $30,000 declared value and $500 deductible on collision. Unless the age of the car also reduces the rate...but I don't think that's how they work. Maybe the ticket is to put in $5000 declared value to get the lower rates and take your chances on a total loss.

Snake oil, all these guys....I hate insurance.

Haggerty has a funny year cut off at 86 for some reason. Been that way when I checked periodically over the last few years.

Now that you mention that, I've noticed the same over the years. Maybe they consider a car "old' once past 25 years and the rates will drop appreciably (let's see, that should be in 2012). Will have to check then I guess.

I just rechecked: $500 deductible, $300K liability, $45K Stated Value - - All for $361/yr.

I did have Grundy do an online quote for same limits, and it came out to: $296/yr. - - For whatever that's worth...

I like the no limits or restrictions. That's worth something to me. I may have to look into that.

Hard to tell the quality of an insurance company until you need them which would be unfortunate.

I've got a regular allstate policy now. It's about $480/6 months with replacement value and 300/500k liability. I park it for the winter, so it runs me just over $500/year. I've got a 67 CJ5A with American Collectors that runs $170/ year at $10k stated value.

Grundy, Hagerty, Leland West are the brands I am aware of (that seem Porsche friendly, but there may be others). Sometimes the large companys (allstate for instance) offer collector policies, but they are just a rebranded "hagerty" policy.

Should'a kept my '69 CJ5 (not an "A"). Basic, 225 V6, headers, etc. Damn fun rig. Lots of memories, some good, some not so good.

$hit, you turd. What memories!!! Sold mine before I moved back West from Chicago about 15 years ago or so. VERY NICE looking rig my friend!...

I bought mine as a basket in Portland, OR. back in the early 80's, and eventually drove it from SE Idaho to Chicago in the middle of winter with two Alaskan Malamutes in the back....and with my wife driving the Targa with 4 cats and two parrots. That....that....was a road show I'll never forget. Took 5 stinking days to get there.

OOOOPPPPS....sorry all for hijacking the insurance thread.
