Scavange system questions
 

I have the pump on the back of the cam, but I made it like the sc install which means it has no airpump belt housing and I have the pump mounted directly to the housing with no spacer at all. It places constraints on space and lining up issues with stock lines to and from the pump. I'm fine with that though, The question I have is would it reallly matter if I used a barb and clamp connections? In other words, would the system be low pressure and work well with this kind of modular aproach to puting my sysytem together?
Also, what would be issues with not using the drip tank for a short period of time, or ever for that matter? I have a garrett gt30r which uses much less oil.

You should be fine with a barbed fitting and clamp. I would not run without
a drip tank. Make sure your supply banjo has the flow control ball in it and
with a Garrett Turbo some add a spring to the ball to further control the
flow. Contact Chris at TurboKraft and he can provide you with the parts
and information on using the Garrett Turbos.

The amount of oil is of no concern to the pump, it will happily suction all day. The key is that the suction side should be a pipe or tubing that is rated for vacuum, otherwise it may flatten out and constrict under high oil temperatures. The output (pressure) side is not critical because it runs a short distance to the tank under no constriction, so a barb and clamp would be fine.
