male 6 pin CDI plug

What are you guys using for the 6 pin CDI plug (male end) besides spade connectors?

Is there a male plug available out there that works with the 6 pin female CDI plug?

John:

I've purchased them from Permatune before. They carry them as spare parts.
I used it to make a pigtail for installing my MSD 6530.

Hi,

I've also been looking for a 6 pin male cdi plug, but with no luck...

Cole: Do you have a contact person at Permatune who I can get in touch with? I tried e-mailing them about this last week, but haven't got an answer yet. I hope they still carry these as spare parts.

If anyone of you can order, please let me know. I live in Sweden so maybe they think it's a hassle sending them here? If you guys are able to get these, I'm happy to pay you. I know some more guys here in Sweden who would like to order, so I can order 10 of these if Permatune only sell them in bigger batches.

Many thanks in advance!

/ Tobias

The male 6 pin plug is part of the porsche wire harness and the female 6 pin plug is part of the CDI.
The current day black Permatune repalcement CDI for a 911 has the female 6 pin plug on a short pigtail wire harness. You can buy one of those 6 pin female plugs from Permatune.
The older extruded aluminum Permatune replacement CDI made for a 911 SC or 930 had a female 6 pin plug built into the bottom of the CDI box like the origonal Bosch CDI has.

I don't know if Permatune sells a male 6 pin plug like the one on the porsche wire harness. Call and find out (631) 909-1011
Perma Tune Technical Support for Porsche 911

edit: Looked around on the extensive tech section in the Permatune website and found a repair harness section for porsche and it looks like they do have a nylon male 6 pin or 8 pin plug available like pictured on the bottom of these pages.

Maybe it's a female plug... I'm looking for the plug / connector that's on the cdi. I've installed a MSD and want it to be plug and play. In case I need to swap to a OEM CDI it should be a Quick swap.

Jsveb: very nice of you helping out

Cheers

The connectors are DTM 6 pin.

The CDI side is: DTM 6 Pin 68058 (Male)

The Harness side is: DTM 6 Pin 68056 ( Female)

Other than Bosch or Permatune you best bet would be a MoTech dealer.
MoTech has a host of interface cables and connectors they carry.

OK, to get technical the CDI plug looks like a female plug with male spade terminals in it and the harness plug looks like a male plug with removable female spade terminals inside it.

I called the harness plug a male plug because it inserts into the mating plug on the CDI. Don't know what they should officially be called now.

Hi Guys,

I just found this Link: Blade Connectors

Must be the right one? Kit includes male and female. Maybe we can order from them...?

Cheers

The 6 connector plug doesn't look like it has the "reference" corners on it? Dimensions would be helpful.

Haven't found any Dimensions, but does this one look correct?
