I think he is talking about the adjustable pot on the right hand side of the air metering assembly - looks like a pressure regulator maybe?

No, on post #74 there is a pic of the metering assembly (engine is not installed), on the right side, there is an adjustable metal pot (blue on bottom, faded red and silver on top) with braided lines connected to it . . . it is not in the picture in your current post, however.

I would give second thoughts to the carrier being cut like that, especially on a high powered engine. The geometry/strength of that part has been severely compromised and a test, as you say, might mean serious damage - to the engine or to the driver.

piero - yes that is the part.

zcoker - There is quite a bit of additional metal welded to that engine carrier (including above the cut) . . .
