Hello Turbo Maniacs,

I saw this on ebay - no affiliation - and I'm convinced that you like the engine set-up.

Lotus Super Seven 500 PS Rennfahrzeug Porsche Motor Bi-Turbo | eBay

It must be FUN to drive.

MERRY X-MAS and a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR to all of you from Germany.

Interesting... Actually it would make valve adjustment easier... Must still be fun to drive though.

Everyone knows you can't put a driveshaft on a porsche engine. LOL. Looks very cool! And very fast!!!

This is a bit of a strange auction, as it says "ohne" = "without" in english the Porsche motor and built on parts, so it appears the auction is only for the frame of the Super seven, and some of the other parts, some of the parts are available at extra price... strange way to do an Ebay deal, I think in the US he would be getting some hate emails, on this one... with the regards to the title of the auction having the Engine in it...

Interesting project though.. if all of the parts were included in the current price it would be a bargain....

Insane build!
Interesting injector location, too.

Much as I like a good project....as a Westfield owner myself...all I can say is "YEURGGHHK"

That chassis looks like it weighs a tonne, about twice as much metal in it (in the wrong places) as a Westfield or Caterham one.

A serious amount of work needed to get it anywhere near. Wrong type of motor too, in years gone by guys in the UK have fitted the Cosworth YB engine as a turbo'd lump into Westfields - in its day a great engine with huge BTCC pedigree, but in a Se7en? Great for pub bragging but far too much torque, completely untractable - these cars should be screaming with a nice light 4-pot (and for racing, a bike engine like a 260hp Hayabusa setup).

Transaxle in the rear would also wreck the F:R weight distribution. Despite "Cater-fields" looking like they would be too front heavy, when you get them on the scales, with a longitudinal box fitted to a 4-pot (Vauxhall XE Redtop/Ford Zetec or Duratec/etc) the engine only needs to be relocated aft about 2-3" from factory mountings, to get the balance right.

Sorry....horrid on so many levels. Rant over.
