sneak peak.....WHEEL PORN!!!

So i contacted CCW a while back after i saw a new model wheel pop up on their site...i was really after a set of 5 spoke wheels to finish my rauh welt look...and was about to order a set of work meisters but didnt want to wait 4 months...so

they told me they were 3-4 months away from making for a porsche bolt pattern and really needed a test car, etc..to make sure it could even be done...

great, i have one, use mine...so here we go...

18x9 fronts, and 18x12 rears, no spacers in the rear
the will be brushed Ti finish on the spokes..its a dark grey color

wheels are being sent to the finisher at some point this week and hopefully off to me next week...now i need to save for some tires

I've been practicing my painting skills on a few bikes that are going to Daytona next week. I am planning on doing everything on my build including the paint.

Hi Jim,

Removing the glass is easy.....getting it back in is another story....

If you are changing the color I would say glass out....if you just want to respray, you could probably leave it in.

Jim,

I pulled all the glass from the old sled when I did the repaint. Using a stanley knife and working from the inside cut down through the weatherstrip from the glass side of the weatherstrip not the interior material side. This approach is important because it will allow you to get the black aluminum trim out of the outside of the weather strip once the weatherstrip is cut out without bending the trim all up. The trim is a ***** if you bend it up.

Reinstall the glass with new weatherstrip and the aluminum trim in the rubber. This is a two man job. We had all 4 pieces back in in about 45 min.

Those are unbelievable. When will they be available to the rest of us? Any idea of cost? What type of centers?
Sorry for all the questions.

i can not answer for CCW, but if you call there and ask for Dan, tell him James with the porsche LM5s sent you, im am sure he would be willing to do another set,...

he has asked me to post alot of pics and see if there was anymore interest from the porsche crowd since its a new model for them

Cost is tough, you can start at 2400 and end at 5000, sizes, finishes, centers, bolts, etc,...everything affects price....

this is my second set of CCWs i have owned and the quality is second to none...i had a set of Work Meister s1 3pc, and i liked my CCWs better

centers are made from 6061-T6 Aluminum

thank you man...going to look nuts on a flat black car

its really hard to tell from those pics, but the centers are a new finish for them, they are a Brushed Finish with Titanium Anodizing,..so its a dary gray / silver center
