catch can installed
Just installed a morrosso universal catch can worked out good. After about 5 days 200-300 miles I looked to see what would be in it and found very little oil. What was in there was milky looking is that right. thanks Johnhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1332780355.jpg

Remember the movie American Pie? Looks like you got Stifflered, ha,ha.
Seriously, its water vapor from the oil not being hot enuff. Nothing to worry about I think. |
Do you notice any smell inside the car from the little vent inside the engine compartment? I heard the vent allows oil smell to get inside the cab via the engine fan and heater ducts.
Just wanted to know what you experienced in regards to this. Thanks, Fred |
I was wondering about this as well. I've ordered the K&N filter that sits on top of the air intake, but rather than putting little filters on the various hoses that normally attach to the air filter box, I was thinking of just hooking them up so they feed into the top of the air filter so the engine just breathes in and burns the fumes - like the factory setup.
Thoughts? |
catch can
I removed the engine compartment vent from the catch can, and ran a hose through the tin to vent outside. I found the smell of fumes in the cab overwhelming when the heat was on. Philip

When I installed the "Rarly's air filter" I hosed/manifoled all the breathers to the new air filter holder, pretty much as the OEM. No mess, no smell.

It does vent into the cabin but I dont notice it thru the heat vent, just coming thru the back.
It is not that bad at all. I am going to vent it out somewhere else. Anyone have any pics of where they vented theres too. |
