I am not a bonafide member of the League of Amateur Internet Forensic Scientists, but this ad seems pretty dubious at $50.

Nah that's just parts starting price. I had him send me some photos.
Car looks ok-ish, he wants 10K for the complete engine/trans combo, but the car looks rebuildable.
He claims the suspension is all good & the car runs & drives.
I'll try to attach the photos in another submission.

That would be a shame to chop it up it doesn't look too bad.

Looks like a decent deal, these things are worth a fortune in parts. Did he give you a price for the whole car?

I did not ask the price for the entire car. I know I don't have enough free cash for that.
Just thought I'd put it out there for others to think about.

I would say that the car has a good twist to it. Chassis is hard to judge without being able to look in detail at it. I would buy the car and part it out. IMHO, it's worth more in parts, unless you are planning on doing all the work yourself, then you could build a nice car for short money. But if it is totaled and has a salvage title, then you are going to have a car with a much lower resale value.

upon further inspection of the pictures, the car looks like it got sandwiched in an accident. Minor from and rear bumper damage, but the RR quarter buckled.

Body Jig Canidate?

Just a thought and hopefully not a brain fart. I was looking after posting a question about my early case. I saw an article in Excellence a few years back about a Paris to Dakar Rally Car restoration. It was tweaked from getting airborne or someting of the sort and it was taken down prety much to the shell & straightened. I have see this done on threads to save long hoods & SWBs with some pretty nasty shell tweeks but it is a question of time & $$$$. Turbos demand a strong price point and the math may work for you if you can DIY a lot of the disassembly/reassembly.

It's a parts car for sure.

It got tweaked so hard in the sandwich that either the driver's door glass exploded on its own or that is how the driver was extracted. Passenger door buckled as well.

Parts car.

Doesn't matter how nice the car looks and how much you put into it. Once a frame is bent, it will never be the same. Its to much of a risk INMOP.

It doesn't look so bad. What makes you think it was sandwiched? It looks like it might have just slipped into a ditch on its side. Drivers side looks fine. Also I think it has a sunroof.
