930 Turbo hesitates

Hi guys,

I have a 1985 930 Turbo Euro.
Lately, noticing esp when warm that the Turbo boost hesitates... (not a smooth boost). My mechanic was thinking the turbo is leaking, and suggests rebuilt. He also suggest that I do the WUR as well. Is this a common thing to fix to remedy the Turbo boost problem? To replace both, is it alot of manhours?

Thanks

Peter

Had a similar problem recently(start with the simple things first) after upgrading the intercooler..Double chk-hose lines-connections..Chk AFR-Readings..Tightened down the intake-can,Still didn't get the feel what I wanted..

Then took the plugs out--A little rich looking..Put in a new set..I also dialed back my fuel-dumping--HKS-AIC...

No more hesitating..

Change in fuels composition (winter/spring...) might due that to our engines/plugs , including acting up of "old" WUR; I'd not look into the turbo itself - yet. It really doesn't take lots of MH to swap them.

Hi guys,

I don't think it's the plugs. I recently just had a tuneup with oil change which replaced all the plugs, distributor, oil, air, fuel filters. And I have had both fuel pumps replaced as well as the coil.
