Opinions please

Ok, I have just put in an order for a new set of 17inch fuchs style wheels.
Made out here in Australia by a guy that makes racing wheels.

I like the stock look of my 930.
However, I just love the look of these all black 17s.
What do you guys think?
Stay with the stock black centre and silver rims.
Or go the all black.
I need to make up my mind as he said they will be ready for paint in a week.
Look forward to your thoughts.

The all black look.

My car with the stock look 16s.
New wheels are 17inch 10s and 8s.

I like the silver trim with your car, but agree the all black looks great on the red one.

I think rim envy is normal for us. One day I love my Kinesis and the next day I'm drooling over Fuchs.

I don't think all black would look as good as it does on the red one. Search for a lot of silver pics to get a good idea of what you like with that color. I have teh same black center scheme on my black 930 and I'd like to make an change too.

I stripped the rear side window tint which might make it look nice again though?

What do you not like about tinted windows?

Do a Photoshop on your car by adding black to your rims and see how you like it.

Depends on the color of the 930.

Depends on the exterior paint of the 930.
I think it depends on how the finish of the wheels.
Brushed or flat or high gloss or low gloss etc.

Thanks guys, keep going.
This is a big help.
Infraredcalvin, thanks for the photoshop, me like.
I would go with a satin black paint with a clear if I do.
I think the all black would look tough.

As I said on the other thread, I'm not a fan of the all-black look. The wheel looks like it gets lost in the wheel well. But there are a couple exceptions. See if you can find images of Moses' 911. IIRC it's a narrow-bodied targa with all-black wheels and a ducktail. Looks fantastic.

In the end, it's your car. Doesn't matter what the rest of us think.

Cool, Noah.
Just trying to get a feel for what others think, and why.

If the frames are black and only rear quarter windows with tint it looks very unbalanced IMO (rear/top heavy). We can't have front windows tinted here so I had to strip those two yrs ago and now I stripped the rear ones (PITA).

I might end up going all black though with the rsr bumpers and no rear wing setup I have now (or ductail). The car is in pieces now so I'm a bit bipolar right now : )

Hmmm...Tough decision

Personally--A "polished" silver lip is real sweet...

I'm in the market for something similar for my Carrera (once it gets its 3.6 and 930 fenders). Let's know who the supplier is.

You can have it both ways. Buy the wheels in silver and if you want black paint them with Plasti-Dip. If you get tired of the black the Plasti-Dip is easy to remove and won't hurt the finish underneath.

All black does look cool but if you go that way you may want to add a thin silver bead along the outside edge of the wheel so you can see where the wheel ends and the tire begins. I've seen this and it looks very nice.
