help me find 1st gear,...
again, loosing my mind here
trans and engine were just installed, i have no idea how to find first by grabbing the shift coupler... i just installed a wevo shifter and coupler and i have been playing with this thing for about two hours and cant find Fing first gear... nor can i get the car into reverse.... o why o why did i ever take this thing apart:mad: |
I never took 930 shifters apart but remembering from a VW Beetle (same type)...
as reverse is left and forward, the shaft in the floor will spin clockwise (looking forward) and go back so that’s how you should be able to get into reverse by holding the shaft… Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I would try… maybe others can chyme in here... |

That's out of the 930 manual. Once you get it close set the shifter to the best centered position. Do this by looking as you move the shifter fore and aft, then loosen the clamp and dial the center in and lock it down. Put a piece of masking tape on top of the tower and mark that center spot on the tape. Now check the feel side to side from the reverse plane to the 3rd. / 4th. plane. When you feel it slide easily from the 3rd. / 4th. plane into the reverse plane remark your tape and readjust your coupler to the new mark and lock the coupler down. Leave your tape in place so you always have your second mark to fall back on. Now go try it out and make any slight adjustments you think you might need. The real secret is getting that smooth transition from the 3rd./4th. plane to the reverse plane. Cole |
