LED Boost Guage- Have you seen one like this?

I picked this up at Hershey today, have you guys seen one like this before? I canít seem to find much info when I do a Google search. It also appears that I am buying parts for a 930 that I don't even own {yet}.

Looks kind of like an Andial boost gauge with a different logo. If I may ask, what was the cost?

The factory also offered these.. but not with this logo. They are'nt the most accurate.. though they do look cool when lit!

They were used on the 1976 Porsche 934 cars and the face plate on this 1977 930 reads Porsche SC. They were later used on many Porsche specials, as in this 1983 Porsche Kremer 935 street 2 and that one was made/marketed by VDO. The later turbo race cars ( sometime into the 935 cars) they used the tel tale boost Gage. Who knows who the original manufacturer was, could be all were made by the company that made the one you have if it is dated prior to 1976. Nice find no matter what. They were called the Christmas tree boost Gage as they are colorful when the boost rises.

Thank you all very much for your responses. I was looking at some photos of a 1985 Slantnose that I had looked at a couple of years ago and found this. While the picture isnít really clear, the gauge appears to be identical to the one in the original picture I posted on Saturday.

Interesting stuff.. again I think the factory offered these at one time, through Special Wishes. I have seen one or two by Andial, but believe most have been HK.

So, here's what they look like when they're lit! This one is in a friends Kremer 930/935

The one in my 83 Kremer 935 is branded VDO. I have seen other face plates like Andial, RUF, but none I have seen predate the ones used in the 934, so many tuner/builders must have later ordered them from who manufactured them, if not a Porsche product. Here is a better photo of the one in my 77 930 which has around 24K miles and was built to a high performance standard when nearly new.

They used those on the race cars because the analog ones where too inert and were always behind the actual boost.

I contacted Andial for one of those back in '99 but they had already long-since discontinued them.

From the 935 pictures thread

Off what appears to be a Martini sponsored 935...

I have one of those on my white S! Love that gauge. Not the most accurate, but the lights at night are wicked cool.

Does anyone have a broken one of these, or a horribly inaccurate one? I am trying with the idea of making a reproduction. Need a sample to examine.

Send a message via AIM to VZ935
Few of those for sale now and then but usually without the sending unit, and good luck finding one of those. No sending unit no work.
